Marilyn O’Bryant of St. Joseph, Michigan received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Buffalo. Her expertise in art ranges from watercolor painting, to colored pencil and graphite drawing. Her artistic philosophy consists of representation from a personal point of view. Subject matter has a broad scope for this artist – from tree-filled landscape to the dunes of the lakeshore; she shares her reaction to some favorite sights. She depicts her subjects from many viewpoints, ranging from the distant to the close-up and enjoys capturing with her brush a variety of surfaces and textures.

Ms. O’Bryant focuses on Berrien County as well as her travels to the Upper Peninsula and Canada. Whether it is the vineyards and orchards in autumn, the waterfalls in summer or the marinas in winter, she seeks to celebrate the beauty of the area. She hopes to bring some little known or rarely noticed perspective to the attention of her viewers in the nearby towns and beyond our small town borders.
